Susan Polis Schutz is an accomplished writer, poet, documentary filmmaker, and advocate for womens issues, the elderly, and dispelling the stigma of mental health illnesses. She is the author of many best-selling books of poetry illustrated by her husband, Stephen Schutz, including To My Daughter with Love on the Important Things in Life, which has sold over 1.6 million copies. Following the tragic events of September 11, 2001, she and Stephen created a small book of Susans poetry and Stephens artwork entitled One World, One Heart that was distributed free to over 7 million people. Susans poems have also appeared in countless national and international textbooks, magazines, and newspapers. She is perhaps best known for her unique ability to put her personal experience into words that people everywhere can identify with. Her writings are highly relatable and resonate in the lives of people around the world.
