Hyeyoung KimShe was born in Kosung, Kyungnam Province, South Korea in 1966. She studied English Literature and Language in Pusan National University where she received her M.A. in1992 and her Ph.D. in English Literature in 1999. After Graduate School, she has taught English at Pusan National University and Silla University.
In 1997, her first poems were published in Modern Poetry and her first book of poetry titled "A Mirror Opens One Thousand Ears" was published in 2004. "A Mirror Opens One Thousand Ears" has been published in English and Chinese. She has been working as editor of quarterly magazine, Poetry and Idea and internet poetry magazine, Young Poets. Her publications include the collection of literary criticism, titled "The Mirror of Medusa" in 2005 and her second book of poetry will be published soon. Also she has contributed her writings regarding cultural criticism to newspapers like Pusan Ilbo from 2006-2007. Recently she received Eji Literature Award for the best poem published in Korea in 2010. She lives in Pusan with her husband and two sons.
