Heather Alexander has written several books for children and young adults including the previous title in this series, A Child's Introduction to the World. She previously served as vice president and editorial director at Parachute Press, where she edited four young-adult series, three middle-grade series and several nonfiction titles. She lives in Basking Ridge, New Jersey.

Illustrator Meredith Hamilton has drawn and painted for numerous companies including Visa International, W. W. Norton and Doubleday. She was an art director at Newsweek, and has an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York. Her whimsical illustrations have been used in television ads, animations and books. She lives with her two children and husband in Brooklyn, New York.
