Fraser Sampson LLB, LLM, MBA is Chief Executive, West Yorkshire Police Authority He is also Consultant Editor for the Police Manuals. Formerly a Superintendent and Head of the National Police Training Examinations and Assesment Unit, Mr Sampson is a highly respected authority on police law. Simon Cooper is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford where he teaches Criminal Law and Evidence. Previously, he was a serving police officer with the Greater Manchester Police from 1976 to 1983, the majority of this time being spent on road traffic duties. He has published widely innumerous legal journals and is the co-author of Elliot and Wood's Cases and Material on Criminal Law. With Michael Orme, he has written Road Traffic Law, part of the Blackstone's Practical Policing Series. Michael Orme retired from Greater Manchester Police in November 2004 having completed 30 years police service. He specialised in Road Traffic Policing in his career, having spent over 25 years on Road Policing Units both on inner city and territoral divisions. Glenn Hutton BA, MPhil, FCIPD is a Director of Psychometric Technology Limited which designs and publishes psychological tests and provides selection and assessment services. Formerly a Superintendent in North Yorkshire Police, he also worked as Head of NPT Examinations and Assessment, Head ofTraining in North Yorkshire and as both Course Director and Director of Studies at the Police Staff College, Bramshill. Gavin McKinnon LLB, LLM, MSc is a Chief Superintendent and Head of Secretariat at the National Policing Improvement Agency with responsibility for legal services, corporate governance, and equality and diversity. Formerly an officer in the RUC/PSNI and a Senior Civil Servant in the Home OfficePolice Reform Unit, he is an adjunct Professor of Law at the City University of New York. He has been published in legal and terrorism journals. In 2006 he was appointed to the Independent Monitoring Board for Brixton Prison by the Home Secretary. David Johnston LLB, LLM is a barrister and Superintendent in the Metropolitan Police Service. Formerly a member of the NPT Examinations and Assessment team, he is an OSPRE Assessor and previously worked as a legal researcher for the Home Office in Harrogate.
