Marcelo Carvajal was born in Leon, Nicaragua in 1982. His family moved to America in 1985 to start a better life. Marcelo Carvajal was always interested in the Japanese culture as a young boy; he would always fantisize about Japan, little did he know that he would soon find himself face to face with his dream country.
In 2002 Marcelo left his family and home to enter the United States Marine corps and it is in this chapter of his life where he would eventually become the man he is today. While in the Marines he got a chang to travel to Okinawa, Japan where is became intertwined with the Japanese culture. He has written the book "Japanese for the Mind" to represent his passion for the Japanese culture. Marcelo left the Marine corps with an honorable discharge in 2006 and now lives in Seattle, WA where he continues on his journey to study and understand more about the land of the raising sun.
