This is a memoir of sorts, recalling over 40 years of my husband's and my interaction with animals. We were often over matched. Almost always out smarted. This includes a lifetime spent with dogs, cats, horses and various wildlife, including deer, one small black bear and hummingbirds: a fascinating but pushy little bird in my opinion.

The author lives in northern Rhode Island with her husband, Richard, their two horses, Razzie and Lily and their dog Dudley. Dudley remains a quirky and surprising dog. Because of his part border collie genes he is most likely the smartest member of the group.
