“Mini” Martin was an incredible athlete. Not only was he a league-leading hitter, breaking all records in offensive production, he was also a weightlifter and triathlete who participated in six Olympics and won numerous gold medals. In the off-hours, he went to gay clubs in drag, as the most famous and controversial gay athlete in history.
Just when he retired he was found dead in New York. Was he killed by a sports rival or because of his sexual orientation? Was he hated because of his success or because he was from Mexico?
