Karina Turok has an MA in Fine Arts (Photography) from the University of Cape Town; she also studied at the International School of Photography in New York. She has held numerous exhibitions and her work has been published in magazines and newspapers both in South Africa and abroad. She is married to the editorial cartoonist Jonathan Shapiro (Zapiro).
