Spanish history is that of a territory almost without rulers patriots, is the story of a failure, what could have been and was not, what, repeatedly tried real patriots and so many other religious obscurantism lost . These attempts of reactionaries have always described disparagingly of utopias, as if it were a bad dream, where historically only the utopias have moved the world and have released the man because he is never so sublime as when fighting for a utopia. (...) This is an unusual history of Spain, because it is not a scientific test or scholar, nor intended to be, it was simply commenting on the incredible story of a people that has been able to survive so much failure, and hence the title of the work. I am aware of my boldness, when there are so many excellent history books, but I am afraid that is often forgotten the view of an ordinary citizen, who have suffered and are suffering as insensateces of politicians and political fallacies of the pseudo - historians.
